findmeakey

How we rank

findmeakey shows every offer we track for a game in one list, sorted by price. This page explains what is in that list and what is not.

Which stores we list

We list stores whose prices we receive directly, through a product feed or a public interface. Most of them run an affiliate programme and pay us a commission when you buy through our link. Steam does not, and we list it anyway.

No store pays to be listed, to be listed higher or to be highlighted. If a store is missing, we do not have a reliable source for its prices yet.

How the list is sorted

Offers are sorted by price, lowest first, in the currency you have chosen. The highlighted offer at the top of a game page is simply the first entry of that list.

If two offers cost the same, official stores come before marketplaces, and stores with the same standing are ordered by name. Commission rates play no part.

What counts as an offer for a game

The list of a game contains keys for the base game. Bundles and keys for other content that a store attaches to the game appear separately under “Bundles and DLC offers” and never count as the lowest price. DLC has pages of its own, where only keys for that DLC count.

Official stores and marketplaces

Official stores get their keys from the publisher or are the platform itself. Marketplaces, labelled “Marketplace”, are platforms where third-party sellers offer keys.

Marketplace keys are often cheaper. They may also have been bought in another region or under conditions the publisher did not intend, and if a key turns out to be invalid, you depend on the refund policy of the marketplace and its seller. We label every marketplace offer, and the filter “Official stores only” hides them all.

How fresh the prices are

We fetch prices several times a day, and every offer shows when we last checked it. An offer whose price we could not confirm recently disappears from the list until the next successful check.

The price in the store is the one that counts. It can change between our check and your click.

Currencies and regions

We show the prices stores charge in US dollars and in euros and never convert between them. An offer without a price in your currency is hidden, and the page tells you how many there are. Keys locked to a region only appear in the currency of that region.

The percentage next to the lowest price

When the lowest price comes from a marketplace, we show how far it lies below the lowest price of an official store for the same edition, rounded down. We compare only like with like, and we show nothing if no official store sells that edition in your currency.
